The Metro Detroit
Police and Fire Pipes and Drums honors police
officers and firefighters killed in the line of duty
by playing music at funeral services free of charge.
The corps was founded in 2002 after the death of
Hazel Park Police Officer Jessica Nagle-Wilson.
Today, Metro Detroit Police and Fire Pipes and Drums
pay tribute to and honor fallen officers and
firefighters throughout Michigan upon the request of
their families, law enforcement agencies and fire
To pay tribute and
honor to Police Officers and Firefighters throughout
the State of Michigan that are killed in the line of
duty. Such tribute and honor shall be accomplished
by providing music at funeral services when
requested by the family or the respective agency.
